The Association helps make it possible for the band members, who give freely of their time and talents, to bring quality music to the community. When we travel, we bring with us good will through the international language of music.



About SVSBA:
 

  • Established in 1983 by Dr. Lester E. Lehr.
  • Open to anyone interested in symphonic band music.
  • Organizes ensembles for community concert needs.
  • Sponsors an annual symphonic band festival in Carmichael.
  • Provides money to support community concert needs.
  • Sponsors an annual youth solo artist scholarship.
  • Internationally recognized.
  • Band members are adults of all ages, from twenties to seniors. All are encouraged to join and play.
  • Musicians represent a cross-section of the community - many professions are represented.
     




ALL MUSICIANS WANTED FOR JULY 4th

Each year The Sacramento Valley Symphonic Band performs on Independence Day for the

Carmichael Fireworks Display, and on Sunday at Carmichael Park. This year the host band is the

River city Concert Band, directed by Tom Seaton.

The Fireworks display draws upwards of 10,000 spectators, so our goal is to provide as large a

band as possible.   All local band musicians are encouraged to join us for these two fun concerts.

Rehearsals areon Mondays and Wednesdays - June 23rd, 25th, 30th and July 2nd at Mira Loma

High School, 4000 Edison Avenue in Sacramento.   The performances will be at 7pm on July 4th at

La Sierra Community Center, 5325 Engle Road, and Sunday July 6th in Carmichael Park.
